RE: The Absurd GOP
Marjorie Taylor Greene has been fined $12 000 for violating campaign finance laws.

Colour me shocked.

By tying aid to Ukraine and Israel to the border, and then sabotaging any deal on the border, the GOP plays directly into the hands of both Putin and Hamas.

Well, to be fair, in the case of Israel's continued occupation of and genocide within Palestinian territory, the republitraitors are correct to withhold funding, albeit by accident and for the wrong reasons.

Quote:A top Republican official in Missouri is threatening to remove President Joe Biden from appearing on the ballot as retaliation for the determination in two other states that Donald Trump doesn't qualify because he "engaged in insurrection."

"What has happened in Colorado & Maine is disgraceful & undermines our republic," Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft wrote on the social media site X on Friday. "While I expect the Supreme Court to overturn this, if not, Secretaries of State will step in & ensure the new legal standard for @realDonaldTrump applies equally to @JoeBiden!"

Geez, if you ask me, this guy is acting like a sore loser. He doesn’t even have a good reason to do that.

Great, it’s as if those republicans actually want democracy gone.

It could also be because they were brainwashed by Trump’s lies, but either way, I say they are not patriotic for this country and are not for American democracy.

Of course they do, if the US ever instituted democracy they'd be out on their ears. Permanently.

Mike Johnson Claims Trump's 'Poison Blood' Comments Aren't Hateful

Referring to Trump's claims that immigrants poison the blood of America, Johnson claimed, "He’s been saying this since he ran for president the first time that we have to secure the border, and I think the vast majority of the American people understand the necessity of that and I think they agree with his position."

"Well, it’s not hateful,” Johnson shot back. “What President Trump is trying to advance is his America first priority. And I think that makes sense to a lot of people. The current President, President Biden wants additional supplemental spending on national security, but he denies the most important point of our own national security. And that is our own border."

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

What a fool. I can see it be hard for him to get re-elected with him saying things like that.

Nope. Focus tested. It's not hateful, just true. That's the messaging the (previously) alt right landed on for normalizing racism in the here and now.

Hmm,, for some reason, I find “poison blood” to still have hate in that.

Still, I think Mike is a fool regardless. My last post was not about just what he recently said. I don’t think his Christian views and vision will ever work well with the USA, and I do think other things he said or did were not good.

I still think what he said is just blindly defending him, if to a degree, but again, what I previously said was not just about that.
