Because Christ means "savior" and science is the savior of mankind, therefore science is Christ and the worship of Christ (science) is Christianity. What humans do with science isn't a differnt discussion, it's the only discussion, in this context, because only humans use science. You're asking me to disregard the fact that science saves or destroys anything, then you bring up Hitler and gas chambers. You're making an empty emotional appeal.

You made an emotional appeal.

Of course it’s a different discussion. A scientific discovery is, by itself, amoral - it’s the application of that discovery which makes it moral or immoral. To cite just one example (out of many thousands) mustard gas was first synthesized in the early 19th century, but not used as a chemical warfare agent for nearly 100 years. Since then, it has killed hundreds of thousands of people. Oddly enough, it was also the chemical basis for the first chemotherapy treatments. There is a wide, wide gulf between science and its application. Boru
