The lyre used to be such a popular musical instrument, and yet no one has been playing it for generations. Perhaps because it evolved into a guitar?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Actually, it was the lute that evolved into the guitar.

Well then, maybe the lyre evolved into a lute and then into a guitar?
Anyway, maybe I'll teach myself to play a lyre. But if I walk into a music store and ask for a lyre, they'll probably think I'm trolling them.

Lyres are mostly used for folk music intros. These are always REALLY long intros, which gives the audience a chance to retreat to a safe distance.*

Pretty much. The lute was likely a different evolution of the lyre, but the harp is a more direct one.

I'm currently watching this episode, and I'm surprised that they didn't actually try a simple solution: Surgeon!Dad cucked Dead!Dad years ago and the kid was the result. Okay, so, as I'm typing this, one of Archie's friends at the bar posits that explanation, even if it's just "the kid was illegitimate". But, somehow, neither Archie nor Mike came up with that answer. And even that bar friend somehow thinks "the kid was a zombie" before coming up with that solution.

Event. But there is a bird sitting on the guitar neck.
