Heya Poca, okay I stand corrected... so you get to keep your investment? Don't get me wrong, that game's always looked fun but I'm not a fan of pay to win. Can you realistically progress to a high level without paying even if it takes a long time? ...I'm no stranger to grind... I love grind in games.
There's proof, as I never gave them one penny and I managed to reach the last tier, Tier X, on more than one nation (full disclosure, I've been playing this since 2011 and the Christmas/New year's events are great to get some extra gear)

Sure, there are premium vehicles that make it easier to grind the crews and to penetrate shells while bouncing off enemy shells, but those are only a few of the premium vehicles. Most premiums are sort of balanced.

If you do play, try not to be a noob: Avoid presenting your sides to the enemies unless it's at a grazing angle, and basically don't rely on your armour.

Okay, consider me well and truly reeducated I might give that a go sometime. It still takes me a while to get into, or look for, new games to play (I can just about handle one obsession at a time ... currently it's playing a game called Dysmantle with my sister) but next time I'm looking for a new game, I'll keep this one in mind Do you play on console or PC and is there cross-play across platforms?

I picked up Desktop Dungeon: Rewind for $4. It's a remake of the original. Cheap, simple, wholesome fun. Dungeons are really short, and it scales well enough that I can play while watching baseball at the same time.

I play on PC.
As far as I'm aware, there's no cross platform play.... it would not be fair to put PC players VS console ones... maybe the console players all play on the same server.
I've recently been introduced to PS3 emulation... so I've restarted In InFamous.

OK, well I've just had a look at it in Steam, and ProtonDB which is where I have to look for compatibility of games with Steam in Linux, which is the only place I'm aiming to play games going forward.
It has a gold rating of "plays with tweaks", but the suggested tweaks are many and varied so it doesn't fill me with the greatest confidence (being still basically a Linux noob and preferring the ultimate proton rating of Platinum "Runs perfectly out of the box", which has been the case for the two games I've tried so far in Linux, Stardew Valley and Coral Island.)
So yeah, not sure about this... I might try it on console but probably not on Steam. I have a PS4 and an XBox One, so could go with either.

Read down the comments. There's usually just one or two tweaks that will fix most any specific game. And, sometimes, a tweak that gets your new game going will also fix one that's been dead in the water.
They're also really slow at adjusting those Platinum/Gold ratings. Most Gold games work for me, in base Debian, with no tweaks. Some platinum games need more tweaks than some of the gold titles.
Regardless, there usually someone in the comments who's tweak will work for you. You can also select a specific proton version if the latest version doesn't work. I've fixed many a game just doing that.

Thank you, I'll bear that all in mind. I guess what's the worst that could happen? since I do have a backup disk image of the linux partition and a timeshift backup also, just never restored to them yet so far, and have been so used to Linux running along seamlessly without any problems that I didn't want to tempt fate.
There is another issue I have though, that I wonder if I could pick your brain about? Steam's "Remote Play" doesn't work for me in Linux, does it for you? It just could not receive (or, I think, send) broadcasts. So that means I'm stuck playing just one game, Dysmantle - which uses Remote Play for (a virtual) local co-op - in Windows where Remote Play works fine. There's no problem with normal multiplayer in games for me, but Remote Play seems dead in the water.

Yep, mine's a (gaming) laptop too, and I guess it would probably work fine in Windows, but i've been trying to avoid that as much as possible, but I suppose that would be another option just to try the game out. I'm definitely ditching Windows for good next year when support for windows 10 runs out, so that gives me one year to finish Dysmantle with my sister (which doesn't feel like it's going be long enough since the game is deceptively large and there are many expansions available), unless I can get Remote Play to work in Linux.

Unfortunately, I have never used the remote play feature of Steam, in Windoze or Linux.
