Diane Delano. Actress who played Officer Barbara Semanski on Northern Exposure.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Olivia Hussey. She was enamored by boomers who fell in love with her as Julia in the 1968 film Romeo and Juliet. In later years she played mother Theresa in a biopic which begins with her anti abortion speech at the Nobel prize acceptance (although the actress was known to have at least one abortion after being raped).

She was a great actress, possessed of great nuance and comic timing. She about steals Young Frankenstein.

Jimmy Carter at 100 years old. Not a good President but a very good man. He will be missed.

What comes to my mind when I think of President and Mrs. Carter is that they were simply decent people.

Unfortunately, that has become too rare.

He's been in rough shape for a while. 100 years is a helluva run.

Jimmy Carter was simply a good man. How he wound up in politics is beyond me. He was also a better President than people give him credit for. He got dealt a shit hand. A hostage crises and an economy that tanked mostly due to from Nixon's/Ford's policies. I think we'd live in a much better world had Reagan lost in 1980.
