Just got back from The UPS store to ship a package that weighed about 5 pounds. The young man waiting on me starts going through pricing and I was ready to leave to go to the Post Office instead. He quoted a delivery on Friday for over $86.00. Hell I could drive it there in a couple weeks when I head that way. So then he says the cheapest is right at $26.00...I said fine, do that.
I get home and the estimated delivery date is FRIDAY! What a freakin' scam.

Here's a thought that just occurred to me, so tell me what you think:
If you consider yourself more conservative than the fucking pope, then there is something seriously wrong with you.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Brood XIV 17-year cicadas will be emerging soon. I think they're ugly but I am fascinated by the Eastern Cicada Killer. Females catch cicadas, entomb them, and lay eggs on the victims to feed their larvae. Despite their large size they generally ignore people. Males may investigate us but they have no sting.

I was working in Florida on and off for about 3 years. During one of those stints there was a cicada hatching. What a horrendous racket!
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
