We (staff) generally allow posts to threads that are up to four months since the last post.

It seems we have a subset of trolls who show up and try to resurrect threads that are quite controversial and the people who were active on those threads are long gone.

If your unsure if a particular thread is ressurectable, you can either do what awty suggested or you can start a new thread on the same topic, saying something like,

'In an old thread, so-and-so said such-and-such, and it got me to thinking that so-and-so ate lead paint chips as a child. Here's why...' and so on. You can even take quotes from the old thread and post them in your new one and respond that way.

That particular guideline isn't there to stifle discussion, but for the reasons awty stated.

My 50lb dog has killed 9 rabbits in our yard this summer. He is a meathead. Rabbits are really dumb.

I don't let the dog eat them. We have foxes and coyotes and fishers for that job. Only the woods know for sure.

Being healthy is a lot of work. Yesterday I literally worked out so hard that I puked and today I'm eating a salad for dinner. It feels like it's so easy to gain weight yet so hard to lose it.

I wish I had the same problem.  Due to an illness, I lost a LOT of weight.  As in, I am considered underweight now.  Since the illness also tanked my appetite, I can't seem to gain any back.  Yet my newsfeed is filled with the new weight loss drugs.  Try to find weight gain help and even my doctor doesn't know what to tell me.  I have spent thousands of $$$ on high calorie, high protein drinks and snacks and still don't tip the scale at 100 pounds.  I had no idea that gaining weight would be such a challenge.
