Not only has Snopes found it to be a digitally altered version of an actual French map from 1688, the culprit who did the alteration seems not to have known that a French-speaking cartographer would have spelled it 'Lac Amerique'.

The Republican Mid-Term Convention ('Trumpapalooza') kicked off in Dallas, Texas. After failing to sell enough tickets priced at $20 000/$10 000/$5000 to fill the venue, the organizers began giving them away via lottery. By the start of the convention, they had filled 1000 seats.
The venue seats 20 000.

Democratic Senate nominee Abdul el-Sayed attacked his Republican opponent Mike Rogers for voting to twice deny healthcare to 9/11 first responders, a claim which Rogers branded 'a lie.' And so it was. The Detroit Metro published a report showing that Rogers had voted against the measure not twice, but nine times.
el-Sayed issued an apology for getting the number wrong.
