A pastor in Bastrop Texas tossed the neighbor's cat over a bridge (after putting it in a cage and ignoring it for 3 days).
Here's the conversation between the neighbor who's cat it was and her daughter “She (the daughter) also asked me where Moody (the cat) is now and I (the mother) said, 'Baby he's in Heaven,'"
The mother also said "She (the daughter) knows the man who did this is a pastor at the Bastrop Christian Church and she (the daughter) said, 'I don't believe in Heaven anymore, Moody's just dead.'”
It seems that any psychopath can become a pastor these days.

He couldn't have killed the neighbor's cat because he's a fine, upstanding Christian. I'm sure he was lovingly petting the cat while taking it to its owners, then when he started crossing the bridge the cat must have jumped out the window. You know how squirrely cats can get. [/fundie]

We have to keep this in perspective. Theists don't think they are morally superior, they just assume they know what it takes to be morally superior. Even on their worst day, killing the neighbor's cat, they at least praise god for telling them in his bible how to please Him. They also know that their 'acts' are irrelevant. It is through faith that they avail themselves of god's grace which is the only thing that gets their ticket to heaven punched. Screw the cat, they're heaven bound.

I like a little pussy as much as the next guy but I ain't screwin' no cat. I just meant the pastor guy doesn't really need to care about the cat, his neighbors or much of anything else. He can kill them all so long as he kisses god's ass real good right before he dies, he's in.
