Is God really a volcano

RE: Is God really a volcano
I've heard the Ezekiel meteor theory before. Possible but one needs to wield Occam's Razor here. You don't need cosmic bombardments when earthquakes will do the job. As Chuck says, the Jordan Valley is a connection of the Great Rift Valley which is the Arabian and African tectonic plates coming together. Quakes are frequent and now that there are Israeli scientists actually studying the ground there is an observation that the ME is due for another major earthquake.

Secular Israelis will understand that they live along a fault line. The towel heads will say "Insh'allah."

When the quake comes that will be down, too.

I'm not sure what caused the god myth. I do think natural disasters helped.

I think you must be talking about me (bitch). Glad to see a lot of the people who mocked me for this theory have since gone away and done their own research and found it to be not quite as laughable as first thought.

You might find some answers to questions here...

Funny, you sound just like I did when I came on here a year or so ago with this theory going on about the Great Rift Valley and the tectonic plates.

Other than the occasional xtian shithead - is there any doubt about the theory of plate tectonics?

If only people who did not live near volcanos didn't have god myths, and if only "Yahweh" was anything near the first "god" then it wouldn't be simpler to invoke a rehashing of old myths and concepts with a personal twist.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

What I was looking for was a verifiable REAL life event/s that got turned into a Myth thanks to ignorance and stupidity of humans at that time period (they could be excused for putting a deity in there as a cause). The FACT that these same myths are being supported by ignorant and stupid people today is one FACT I cannot get my head around, not when credible information is available (and so people TODAY can NOT be excused for inserting a deity as a cause).

I wouldn't have thought she was considering this is your first post but it looks like you're admitting that you're a sock. If so, I ain't even gonna waste time learning your name.

Kichi, cargo cults. The reason they're such a big deal is that they emerged within our modern experience, and we were able to document "the birth of a religion" exceedingly well. The locals used their own indigenous myth structure and wrapped it around a verifiable set of events (and people). Their explanations were understandable from their vantage point, and completely known to us (as we, and our equipment became the object of worship). The narrative became something that was entirely their own, very much an easily distinguished part of their culture, but completely divergent from anything that we are able to discern before that point. One of the more interesting things about this is that they did not actually completely abandon their previous religious observances, but we wouldn't have been able to tell that from our vantage point in the present had this happened a few thousand years ago. The similarities would have been lost to the sands of time (as would the original source material pre-contact).
