Just for my clarity, in Reasonable_Jeff's introduction thread, I told him that he could call me "Cockworthy Hannah." Would that now be verboten?

For some reason I can't explain, my interest level in this thread has suddenly picked up again.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

So it's more a ban on certain types of words and expressing, because they are used in a hurtful or wounding or insulting way, than that certain specific words, say "fuck" or "cunt", are in and of themselves undesirable and violate the spirit of the rule. (To be honest, my "Cockworthy Hannah" remark was indeed a snarky comment on the semantic content of Reasonable_Jeff's name, so in this case, even if it didn't violate the letter of the law, or would be likely to trigger a moderator scram, it likely did violate the spirit of the rule, and made Jeff feel, in some ways, unwelcome. Assuming he understood it, that is.) I guess I was wondering whether the aim of the rule was to avoid both certain approaches and attitudes towards newcomers, and, language which frequently serves as a "carrier," or whether the language itself was acceptable, if not used in that alienating, insulting, hurtful, or otherwise damaging way. I think I have my answer. But do elaborate if I've missed something. Thanks, Tibbs.
I can see me getting a few warnings.....
Lol jk I'm such a nice guy (October 9, 2012 at 4:05 pm)Insanity x Wrote: Forum cunt and nice guy? Fair play To be honest, who doesn't love cunt? When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
