What about Atheist country?

I saw atheist country and heard this:
Atheist country means you'd have no god-based religious institutions. You'd probably have every other stupid thing under the sun, though, including Jedi temples. Atheism is no guarantee of intelligence or science-based thinking.
I know that there are some country's/states/republics that are considered an Atheist states, but those are not a wiling atheist states yet atheism has bean forced on them by a hand full of people for many different reasons.
In case of North Korea atheism has bean "implemented" not because atheism it self but because that country is ruled by a fist full of people and allowing a religion where there is a God would mean that they them self would have to bow to the higher authority, and the priests would represent a moral authority where their words would carry a weight and my be in conflict with the messages from the supreme leader. Let me rephrase the question: What about an atheist state, lets say that thousand Atheists come together and they decide to start/found a country/state country it self would be something like "Island state of Nauru" somewhere remote where you would be able to set up and evolve your society without any interference where you would be able to shape its constitution, laws and policy's. Would bunch of willing Atheist be able to build a better country and society, and in your opinion would that kind of country have a future? (keep in mind that there were no willingly founded atheist country's, only those where atheism has bean forced on the population for the same or similar reason that i tried to explained in case of North Korea) (this is hypothetical question, so don't ask where or how)

Quote:Would bunch of willing Atheist be able to build a better country and society, and in your opinion would that kind of country have a future?you would have to ban freedom of religion and kill alll the preists (or witchdoctors or whatever) that were already living there.................. and yes there have been many "willingly" founded atheist country's.............If you were to found an atheist country, every theist country, would quickly label you a personality cult, and call whoever, or whatever group's name, that founded the country "the cult leaders" most likely they would name it after YOU so it would be the Land, or Country, of "Rozbifists" or if you prefer "Rozbifistan"............. and 30 years later some college kid will write a post about how rozbifistan wasn't a "willing atheist state" and atheism was "forced on them by a hand full of people" and "In the case of Rozbifistan atheism was implemented not because atheism it self but because that country is ruled " "so let's start another one everybody!"......it's been tried and it's failed you won't succeeed by simply repeating the mistakes of history
Hm, you have misunderstand: we would not go to any inhabited country/island, in this scenario we would go to a one uninhabited island and start from zero so there would be not need to ban or get rid of anybody or any religion.
The country's name would be decided by suggestions and voting on them. Religion and related books would not be banned. No foreigners would be allowed to adopt orphans. If you will, in constitution would be an amendment "Freedom from religion"
First you don't exist, then you do exist and then you don' exist. The end!

Quote:The country's name would be decided by suggestions and voting on them.there is no such place as "North Korea", but you and everyone else, still knew exactly where I was talking about.... Why? Quote:Religion and related books would not be banned. What laws would you enact then, to prevent me from starting a church, collecting donations, recruiting the sick, the desperate, and more likely the addicts, and the mentally ill? If I get 15 to give weekly tithing, I can sustain a church, then grow it, then begin to demand my religion gets MORE say in how the government is run, and can even get money from the government for "charities" like telling aids ridden areas "condoms are sinful" or handing out bibles during a famine.................... what laws? To build any building you would need few permits, and to get any permits you would need to have a state citizenship.
Religion would not be forbidden (you are allowed to believe in anything you want and to worship it, as long as you do it in the privacy of your own home), but building a religious buildings would be. State does not recognize any religious institution, there fore you would not be in position to demand anything from the state.

Only way to become a citizen is to ask for an asylum on the grounds that you are afraid for life in your own country (lets say Iran or any other country where people get executed for being an Atheist)
In that case your citizenship would be revoked and then you would be deported back to your country.
