No, it's the same as saying if he didn't identify sexual orientation before puberty, then how can he claim that he was born that way. If anything, it implies being born asexualy oriented.

Even straight people are born that way. Puberty, with the aid of hormones, is what essentially informs the individual what his or her sexual orientation will be.
