Yes but if you are fighting a war you don't just keep the weapons you started with. You attack a base and take their weapons. Look at Syria, it is exactly what the Syrian rebels have been doing. Progressively attacking more military bases to further arm their forces, as well as getting a hand on more technologically advanced weaponry.

And further, if the U.S started using chemical weapons on its own people, there would be an international outcry. Again going back to Syria, they have the largest stockpile of chemical weapons and they are using none of them out of fear that other countries will become involved. If there was ever a revolution against the U.S. government we wouldn't have to fight it alone. Chances are there would be a few countries that would come to the aid of rebel forces.

Doesn't matter. It took them a decade to find Osama with the top intelligence agencies.

Again going back to the first point. Eventually, if you take a couple of bases you will eventually have your own drones.

I am by no stretch of the imagination saying we should be revolting now, there is still time for political change. But right now our government is an intrusive one, and once it stops being intrusive and starts becoming repressive, public opinion on the U.S. government will shift drastically. I feel pretty confident saying that if the U.S continues on the path it is on there will eventually be a revolution but I don't believe it will happen for at least a couple of generations.

Go fuck yourself in your Confederate Stars and Bars, you fucking delusional loon.

You're a very close minded individual for coming to such rash conclusions. First, I would just like to mention that I'm from Boston, not the South as many such as yourself seem to classify anyone that shows any kind of support for gun rights. And second, I don't own any fucking guns! I'm not some gun nut stockpiling weapons. And you don't have to be a gun owner to support gun rights. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to understand that because it seems you like to stereotype people into groups with little to no context.

Sorry, but didn't you say we need guns to defend against the government? Implying the government is the one attacking us? But you think the international outcry would happen when they started using chemical weapons?

Also, comparing us to Syrian rebels is downright laughable. As if you can compare the competence of the Syrian government to the US government.

Yeah, just take a few UNITED STATES MAXIMUM SECURITY MILITARY BASES HOUSING DRONES, no big fuckin' deal!

You're oversimplifying our situation with Afghanistan. Also, you cannot compare the control the US has over bases in Afghanistan with the control it has over its own citizens.

This.

Quote:Bailey, who keeps his gun on his person at all times and regularly patrols his property in his truck, has reportedly struck dread into the very highest-ranking members of the U.S. government. According to sources, top government and military officials are fully aware that they remain unable to commence with their oppressive, systematic subjugation of the American populace as long as the 62-year-old owner of a rifle exists.

Additional reports confirmed that Bailey’s frequent practice of shooting his gun at empty bean cans in his backyard has repeatedly forced government officials to reassess both their ground and air strategies for the impending takeover.

During the American-Vietnam War a Huey returned from a mission and a few guys were inspecting damage to the helicopter.

They found several arrows stuck in several places in the frame.

One maintenance tech said, "How the fuck can anyone beat us with bows and arrows for crying out loud?"

The pilot said, "How can we beat a people that will fight against modern weapons of war even down to using bows and arrows?"

Something basically like that.

Weapons will help you fight a war. It's really the resolve of the opposing forces that decides who wins.

Better weapons just help keep your casuality numbers down until the war is over.

I sit on the fence of the gun debate. I grew up in gun culture. My parents house was full of guns of all types. Found under beds, in closets, all over the place.

While I agree these mass shootings are getting out of control, I'm loath to agree that they government should take away more of our rights.

Even if they completely illegalized guns in the US they'd still be here.

For one, we can't keep drugs or illegal immigrants from streaming across our borders. We wouldn't be able to keep out guns.

For two, how would we locate all the currently legal guns? Yeah, you might need a background check to purchase a gun from a store.

But I have every right to sell that gun privately to anyone of age. I've got a gun I bought a long time ago like that. The government wouldn't have any way to know I own it.

Before we get all worked up talking about whether or not we should do something, we might as well figure out if it is feasible.

I seriously doubt more strict gun laws would be anything more than symbolic. While at the same time emboldening the government that they can start considering what other rights they can trick us into giving up.

Even if you disagree with my opinion. And that's all this is, I hope you would be honest enough to at least admit these are valid questions that need to be researched before we go off "half cocked".

Did you see wut I did there? Rahul made a funny.

*sighs* Still doesn't matter. As I already mentioned, taking away more of our rights, gun related or otherwise, is likely to be just one more step to taking away more rights in other areas of our lives.

Two, taking away our rights to own the types of guns we currently have the rights to own are not going to even come close to eradicating those guns.

Us Americans killed a hell of a lot more Vietnamese during the American-Vietnamese War than they did of us. They still won the war.

The Germans killed a hell of a lot more Soviets in their Eastern Theatre during WWII than the Soviets did of them. The Soviets still took Berlin.

Third, there are well over 30 million military veterans in the US. Most of them know their way around a gun and a large percentage of them have experience in gun battles. They are also the least likely to support taking away any gun rights.

In case you haven't noticed they have been taking away your rights. The only thing the gun nuts care about is fertilizing their infantile Rambo fantasies. If there was a white guy in the white house these same gun nuts would be supporting the government. Their definition of "freedom" is quite narrow.

I know they have been taking away our rights. GW Bush suspending the Bill of Rights by the Patriot act has been pissing me off even while I was overseas in the US military fighting against those people that the "Patriot Act" was supposedly meant to protect us from.

These "gun nuts" as you belittlingly call them have a much, much larger percentage of people that voluntarily gave up their freedoms as a natural born American citizen for years if not decades to defend the very constitution that you bleet about providing your freedoms to you.

Those that join the US military give up their freedoms to protect those same freedoms for the general US population. You are no longer protected under the US Constitution in the US military. You are GOVERNED under the USMJ.

As I have already stated, I have been basically on the fence on this debate. I try to be logical and reasonable. And as far as the current gun debate goes, so far I have been. Mainly by keeping my mouth shut and ears open even though I grew up in gun central, spent six years of my life in the active duty military, and went on two full length combat deployments for the US.

But if you start acting completely bombastic and unreasonable you are eroding any sympathy that I have with your side of the debate.
