Or why are the ten commandments so important but the Levitical laws against eating shrimp or wearing clothes of mixed fibers discarded?
*Actually I understand cherry-picking very well.
You know something I've noticed? Every christian has a different interpretation of what they believe is Christianity. It is really butt monkey balls annoying. If I get into a debate with a christian, I always try to get them to nail down their belief before hand so they can't renege. They will. They sooooo will. Some believe that you have to follow certain rules. Some believe you have to follow a different rule set. Some say the only thing it takes to be a christian is accept Jesus as your Lord and savior. But they all call themselves christian. You can't even go by domination. Most don't understand what makes Baptist and Methodist any different. It drives me up the wall! UGH... Its a load of
So what part do you talk about in those debates, do you actually know enough about scripture to discern what is right and what is wrong, if the answer is no and I bet it is, then how is it you can criticize anyone.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Because there's few things a fundie Christian loves more than watching another human being be tortured for eternity.

You didn't read what I said, either that or you're dumb as a gourd. You judge me by your desires, I believe that is quite unfair seeing that I'm a reasonable person who would like to see you in the Kingdom of God. All those who gave you kudos are just like you.
Fine then, perhaps you are unlike the other fundies who secretly squeal with delight at the thought of seeing Big Brother cast the unbelievers to eternal torment.
I would like to inform you though that my definition of hell is spending an eternity in the role of a sycophant licking the boots of some capricious omnipotent tyrant with serious insecurity issues.

Shame on you for assuming you know what my religious back ground is. If you could actually ask me in a polite internet tone, I would happily tell you all about my religious background.

Your definition doesn't count it's God's eternity and that eternity is described differently than your thought.

OK, then do you also follow the rules set down in Leviticus? If not, then why not? Those were also God's rules to live by. Have you sacrificed any animals in a burnt offering lately? I think my town has laws against that, at the very least the smell disturbs the neighbors.

I think that you should have qualified your knowledge on scripture when you said you tried to nail down someones belief to debate them or actually the way you made it sound trap them.

It is not a trap to have a person state before hand the outlines of their belief structure. If I am going to debate someone and before hand I do not know the foundations of their faith, how will any thing be accomplished? How will you know if you agree or disagree on a point? Do you find it trapping to not be able to change the structure of your beliefs in the middle of a debate?
