Can War work?

Can War work?
The situation is Sytia is moving faster and faster towards a point at which Wetern military intervention could hapen. Turkey is gearing up it`s defences and forces at the border and both the European and American leadership seem to be preparing for war.

In recent history military intervention have had bad press, especial when remembering the mess in Iraq and Afghanistan. But hardly anyone remembers and talks about successfull interventions such as the 2 French interventions in Ivory coast during the past 10 years, the US intervaention during the Balkan wars and the 1990 gulf war.

I want to ask you if you think military intervention could work in Syria and if yes how should it be done?

War works I guess. However, I find it primitive for us to war with each other as opposed to being united under a common goal. I do believe for the time being that we are incapable of fully understanding differences or ability to reason out best solutions. War will always be a factor.

Back to the topic, the US should stay out of this and Russia should too. Right they there is a proxy war between the US and Russia for some reason. US is also supporting Al Qaeda elements on the Syrian Rebels. I highly concerned with the motivations of the US Government with recent light. I also like to make mention that US is over due for a Totalitarian government.

It rarely makes things better, though.

War is a vicious blunt instrument which should only be used when all else fails.
Or when people need new ideas for first person shooters.

I think the last thing anyone wants to do is piss off some muslims again, at the moment they're killing each other, so leave them to it would be my advice.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Depends on the goal. If a goal could be met through war, the answer is yes. If it could not be, then the answer is no.

In the case of the US and EU, I think it's Damned if they do and Damned if they don't.

I am unfortunatly unable to answere.

No matter who wins in Syria, the new regime will certainly be anti western. The only question remaining is if it will be a suni puppet state of Saudi Arabia or a shia puppet state of Iran.

The only hope there is for democracy is if Turkey takes it`s time to invest recources in it`s neighbour. But that is unlikely.
