Perhaps religion is only important to the religious? BTW, I must thank you for incidentally demonstrating that one of the main motivations to have a religious belief is fear of death.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I remember when I reached 20 and the false sense of teenage immortality went out the window. It was quite a terrifying moment for me at that time. My atheist parents couldn't offer any comforting lies. They just offered their sympathy. That was enough. Eventually, I reached the acceptance stage of grief. Christians and Muslims are still stuck in the denial/bargaining stage.

Yeah. Also, what's important is not outbreeding the religious in general. The average Christian is only of threat to society when they vote for terrible politicians. A lot, perhaps even a large majority, of professed Christians are really not much, if any, more religious or spiritual than we are. The threat is the fundamentalist. They're the ones controlling the sheep. (September 8, 2013 at 5:37 pm)dimaniac Wrote:(September 8, 2013 at 5:28 pm)frankiej Wrote: I think they will figure all that shit out on their own, I did.
