Russia Bans The Quran
September 27, 2013 at 4:04 pm
In an unusual court ruling, the “October” district court in the Russian port city of Novorossiysk, on the Black Sea, that the “Meaning of Qur’an” in the “Russian Language” is “recognized as extremist”. After the ruling the Russian court made a bold move to ban the Qur’an from Russia and not allowing it to be translated or distributed in Russian. They also recognized possession and distribution of the Qur’an as extremist.
They also are harking the attempt to ban the Hindu texts several years ago when Russia was still a communist country. This also prompted Muslim Clerics over the weekend to demand the court reverse its stance and warned “Global Unrest and Uprising” in the Muslim Communities world wide if the Russian government did not meet their demands.
Not all see this move as over reach by the courts. Some are calling the move a bold step in ridding the country of Radical Islamic Terrorists. Khloponin, a member of the leading party in Russia (the CE) even stated that they are more then happy to pay for the deportation of those who wished to be ruled by Sharia law.

It's about frikkin' time. Hopefully this will catch on with other countries. The problem in the U.S. is our freedom of religion, but Islam can easily be recognized as not a religion because of the violence it spreads throughout the world.
There is an ALLLL-knowing, ALLLL-powerful, inVISible being who is everywhere, who created the WHOLE universe, who lives in another dimension called heaven, who is perfect in every way, who was never born and will never die, and who watches you every minute of every day (even when you're squeezing one out on the toilet). There are also unicorns, leprechauns, Santa Claus, an Easter Bunny, and a giant purple people eater.
JUST BELIEVE IT!

First the banning of homosexuality, mentioning anything in relation to homosexuality, and arresting homosexual tourists.
Now this?
I am beginning to think Russia is merely doing this shit to draw attention to itself so that others will focus on the silliness instead of what is happening behind the big curtain. What is the country really doing?

Well, I do not like censorship, but YAY, someone is finally doing something about it. Sucks that they decided to go with censorship, but better than a whole lot of silence while people continue to teach their children that infidels should be treated differently.

Seriously? People are supporting this? That's awful. As much as I loathe religion, I totally feel it's wrong for a government to single out one faith and ban their holy book. What's going to happen to Russian Muslims now? Many will feel they have to leave behind their homes and friends and move to another country. Islamaphobes will get a nice boost of confidence that their government supports their hate campaign and could become more actively hateful towards the Muslims who choose to stay.
As much as I'd love to see religion banned in general; shit like this won't help and will just harm people in the end. There are ways of doing these things without making a minority group feel even less comfortable in their own homes.

Because all Muslim parents teach their children that. Right.

I want religion to die out, but this isn't the way to do it.

It's not ideal, no. I think the key to solving the issue lies with bettering education. I don't disagree though that Sharia law definitely infringes on civil liberties; hopefully the ban is only temporary.

Then you are for outlawing Christianity too? They spread violence throughout the world also.
