This news Item was on CVatheists, and Patty, one of the posters, wrote that in Israel, they used to grease their bullets in Pork fat for similar reasons of religious warfare; Muslims that got shot with the pork-greased bullets would, at least in theory, be denied entry to paradise because that small amount of pig remains entered their body. Regardless of whatever you may think of Israel, you can't fault their military for being badass (at least on some level). So, basically, if America used pork fat on their bullets and spread the word around the Muslim world, it could probably produce similar psychological effects to putting Bible verses on the rifles, and it wouldn't violate separation of Church and State.

And out of those that have looked, I wonder how many figured out that the Biblical reference was there. And out of those that figured that out, I wonder how many bothered to look up the reference. It's a serial number folks. Even if one sees and recognizes the reference, there is nothing forcing a person to bother to look it up. Serial numbers are on almost every product you buy. I don't know about you all but I don't look at the serial number and check it to make sure there is no subliminal reference before I buy the product and I don't plan on starting. This whole issue is ridiculous in my opinion. Maybe it was a slow news day.

Bible quotes on gun sights sheesh what next?

This is not a holy war, the war in Palestine is a holy war. Scripture on the scope does not a holy war make.
You guys go ahead and be offended that the people that make the scopes are Christian, I will maintain my long standing offense against the ENTIRETY of the war effort, not just some seemingly innocuous detail.
Thats a lot of dead people.
Can I see the paperwork on that?

So, metaphorically damning them wins them friends? No wonder their neighboring countries are "ARRRGHHATESJEWS". Also, since when did the threat of a bigger stick deter desperate people?

There are 60 some books of the bible.
Genesis could be represented as GE, GN, GS, whatever combination that 'leaps out at you'
Exodus could be represented as EX, ED, ES, etc.
Leviticus could be LV, LT, LC, LS.
Go through the bloody 60+ books of the bible, with tons of bloody passages containing sometimes thousands of different number combinations.
And if you can't find a bloody Bible-linked inscription in any decent serial code: you are bloody blind, or extremely unlucky to have found one of the very few combinations (in comparison) that are entirely unrelated to the bible.
Hell, i'd find more links in the bloody dictionary.
It's human to find patterns where there are not... but i think that this is entirely media overblown.
