Yeah. From the press release alone, it sounds like weak sauce being over-hyped to sell a book.

Well it's interesting to start with, I am skeptical but I can see what you mean. That's why I don't think Christian is going anyway because of this, they're to indrocantated to disbelieve it. Well there are always doing to be fools who believe con men. And it does not help there taught to believe it at a young age.
"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful" - Edward Gibbon (Offen misattributed to Lucius Annaeus Seneca or Seneca the Younger) (Thanks to apophenia for the correction)
'I am driven by two main philosophies: Know more about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you' - Neil deGrasse Tyson "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." - Mark Twain
I had a discussion about the whole Caesar's Messiah routine on another board some time back. I wonder if I can find it?
I don't care whether Jesus existed or not, and I don't think most Christians care, either. We will all still go about our daily business regardless.

A point I keep trying to make to my christian friends. How they look around at these big beautiful white mormon temples popping up......all built on bullshit......and not for a second questiong their 1000 different flavors of christian bullshit is comical. Then to top it off almost voted one the leader of their "judeo christian" nation. . The trouble with the world is not that people know too little, but that they know so many things that ain't so. -- Mark Twain .
I found it.
Quote:Quote:I still am not convinced by your response, though, mainly because I think I'm coming at this from a different world viewpoint. For me, it's not "Was there a conspiracy?" or even "Was it a conspiracy of the Romans?" but "Which Romans came up with this deliberate divide and rule psy-ops campaign, and when, and why?"
If Jesus had been invented it then would have gone something like this.
"Good news Christ has risen!" "Who?" "Jesus Christ was executed a few years and rose again?" "No I don't remember him around these here parts" "Perhaps you just forgot about him. it was about 20 years ago?" "No I think I would remember him." And that would have killed the movement in it's tracks.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Interesting how people who claim to require evidence assume this is true before the evidence is presented (with the exception of DT). I for one am extremely skeptical of this report.
