That's pretty low for my standard.

11 posts with 'fuck' by me
9 times that 'fuck' was in a quote used by me
So a total of 20 posts of mine with the word 'fuck' in them
Oh, this is one of them.
So I have less than 1/100 ratio of 'fuck' uses in my posts.

I don't thin I even (or even need to) say fuck that much, as in, that regularly. It's just the fact that I have over 5500 posts so even if I only did occasionly there would be a lot!

How about your ridgid requirement that there be evidence before you will believe a thing? Most people aren't like that. I wouldn't say it is wrong to think that way but I believe that most people do not have such ridgid standards.

Extremely rational?
I consider 'extreme' to be 'excessive' and excessive to be 'too much' which is unhealthy by definition. So I guess being 'extreme' about evidence makes sense as in it being extremely rational only when 'extreme' is meant to mean 'very' (or very very) and not 'excessive'. I don't consider rationality excessive.
And as for the swearing part, I don't consider that 'extreme' as in excessive or 'too much' either... actually, maybe I don't swear enough. After all, anyone remember that article posted in the shoutbox on these forums a while back about swearing being shown to be therapy? Therapy is of course good for you unlike 'excess', unlike 'too much' so unlike 'the extreme' I say.
How's my argument? Do I make a good case here? I hope so :S
Depends what you mean by extreme.

EvF,
So, for argument's sake, imagine that your girlfriend (An atheist) extolled the virtues of homeopathic remedies citing her numerous personal experiences as evidence that they work wonders for her? Could you keep your shit together and manage to simply reply, "That's nice for you." Most people have to do this to have friendships, but it is especially important to be able to do this when in a relationship.

Oddly enough I don't have a problem doing that. It's when I am asked my opinion on the matter that we get into trouble. Because I can hold off on judgment for the sake of diplomacy, but I will not lie for the sake of keeping the peace.
Quick example I thought of: A friend of mine has a mother that believes in reincarnation. She firmly believes that in her previous life she was a Jewish boy gassed in Auschwitz. I can say "Okay" and leave it at that, but when she asked me if I believed in that I just told her flatout that I see no evidence to support something as reincarnation.

Ahh, but that was the point! The girlfriend in my scenario did NOT ask for an opinion. Many people who believe in homeopathy, astrology, numerology, etc. have learned not to ask such questions because they get tired of defending their kooky beliefs.
Leo,
Your reaction is a sane one and similar to the one I manage every time my mother praises the Lord for some good thing like, good weather or someone surviving cancer while in a hospital suffering through chemo treatments (I would suggest maybe those chemo treatments had more to do with it than prayer, but, whatever). Sometimes I lose my shit because I am human, but there is definite merit in learning to tolerate other people's kooky beliefs.
