The Nicest Christian Girl

The Nicest Christian Girl
I'm a graduate student studying English at Eastern Washington University, and there is a girl in my French class that I am thinking about asking out. But her Facebook page says she is a Christian, which makes me a little pensive.

What should I do? In the past, I have had women tell me it couldn't work out with us because of the differences in belief. Maybe it depends on how devoted they are to their church. I don't know just how devoted Tiffany (the girl in my class's name) is to her religion, and I also don't know what branch (Lutheran, Protestant, Methodist, Catholic, etc.) she belongs to. My parents have been married for 30 years, and my mom is a Methodist and my dad is pretty much an atheist. Their marriage has been far from perfect (not because of different viewpoints) but it has survived. While both my aunt and uncle are dead now, he was an atheist and she was a Catholic. They were both married for 55 years. So it can work out.

Thinking

Can you please help me with this? I'd greatly appreciate it.

A theist would be a deal breaker for me, but this isn't true for everyone. WHat's the worst thing that could happen if you ask her out? You could find out she's YEC, or you could find out that she's a CINO. You risk nothing but an awkward evening by asking a nice girl out. Go for it.

I used to think it'd be a deal breaker for me, but now I've met a few that I think is not all that bad (they're pretty secular they just identify with a religion). Just test the waters, see how long she can go without bringing up god and what the bible says and why that should affect your lives.

Honestly, go for it.

The worst that can happen is she can say no.

If you don't ask the worst that can happen is that you'll regret not trying.

If you like her, then go for it. You will find a lot of people who identify themselves as Christian are not nearly as Christian as you would expect.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

See the person, not the religion. Smile
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

One of the reasons theism worldwide is numerically growing more rapidly than atheism, is because the fastest growing religions and denominations generally dont inter-marry with atheists.
And in parts of the (secular Western) world where atheism is growing, birth rates are not keeping up with those where theism is growing. (The birth control pill is like cyanide for atheism.)

So if atheists keep themselves apart from theists and vice versa, it's not looking good for Team Atheism.
