What I'm talking about is Jacob's last post blowing this whole drama out of proportion, when the staff is truly and most seriously trying to sort things out. Sorry that my opinion as a member came as rash.

The last thing that Jacob has done, is blow anYthing out of proportion. If I were him I would've freaked the fuck out and closed everything associated with that email immediately. Then requested everything in this forum be redacted. He is fully within his right to be upset about this, and has been more than reasonable. And to be frank, your post --seeing as how you're a mod and spoke from an 'insider's POV--seemed like the official opinion on the matter (since there's been a lack of official presence saying otherwise).

At the risk of sounding like an ass, may I suggest everyone just chill their beans.

As has been said, the staff are discussing it. For the record no one on the staff thinks Rayaan's actions were appropriate and in my personal opinion I think the whole situation could have been handled a lot better.

I don't want to see anybody here leave. Least of all over something like this. Please guys, I know some of you are lacking in trust with the staff right now, but please trust it is not our intention to force anyone to leave these forums. It's certainly not mine.

My departure is due primarily to the immaturity of certain members and their cohorts, as I need not expose myself to unstable and abusive people. This matter with the staff is just the exclamation point on my farewell, and only serves as confirmation that the timing is right.

I haven't said as much as I wanted to say on this subject because I tend to avoid drama in general. But it seems all this started because Jacob calls himself a christian but barely acts like the type of christian we're used to seeing, which leads to suspicion. And earlier in this thread itself, rayaan himself admitted to using jacob's email to find his name and track him and that "that was only the beginning" and also that he stalks people when he's bored. From the PMs Rayaan does seem to be speaking as if a decision has been made and that his behaviour was totally fine and routine in the maintenance of this forum. And then now people are shocked that Jacob has left and is "blowing things out of proportion"? Really? It's rather fucking ironic that this only happened because he identified as a theist and then got discriminated by another theist, on an atheist forum. For all of you who seem to not have gotten out much, there are plenty of people who have lost their faith but prefer to identify as christians and muslims while practising only the parts that they like to practice. It's not that uncommon, it's called cognitive dissonance and we all do it, we just don't happen to do it in our religious views. And that comment that "you didn't fool me" I don't even know what the hell. Fool you what? Your money? Your time? There's always a chance that the person you're interacting with on the internet isn't who they say they are, that's pretty fucking obvious it doesn't mean you get to use information to track them down to satisfy your curiosity. It's one thing to use information he has willingly revealed to the public, it's quite another to use his email and IP address and god knows what else. Regardless if the information could've been found either way.

Well I didn't call you a dick. I said it was a dick thing to say. Because it was. I've since messaged you and posted in that forum and all you have done is thrown a hussy fit in this thread, which has enough drama atm. Your drama is what you make of it. You coulda just accepted reprimand from fellows for your behaviour--we even tried to hold n olive branch up to you-- but here we are.
