And your Christian hell is equally fictional.

You have not established that the Bible is true or accurate, so I don't believe it any more than I believe the Koran.
2 of 3 basic ways God reveal Himself, 1) is the bible 2) the conscience speaks even into the hearts of those who have no direct access to God's special written revelation. but when the two come together, a person's conscience will tell that person that this is truth: for instance when you read: how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?

You haven't justified the Bible in any way as more truthful or 'inspired' than any other book.

How shall we escape what?

given this: 'for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places'.
expect: false religions

it speaks with authority of things in heaven, and things on earth; of the seen and of the unseen; of God, of angels, and of mankind, of time and eternity, of sin and salvation. one ministry of the Holy Spirit is when your read scripture, a person's conscience will tell them that it's truth.

Given this: your "2 of 3 basic ways" God reveals himself, the betting odds strongly favor my conclusion that your religion is one of them.

I suppose it is harder for those that were once religious to not fear hell etc. I don't fear hell and burning forever seemed silly to me anyway. Either I am Australia go outside in the summer and I will burn anyway, so it won't be much different HA.

Anyway have you guys seen David Mitchell pascals wager rant in relation to atheism?

My reason and my conscience tell me it's a book of myths from a small desert tribe with terrible morals and poor hygiene.

I'm curious. See I believe in God. But I'm increasingly dubious that the God of my experience is the one spoken of in the Bible (for the most part)

Tell me, do you believe the Bible was divinely inspired? And if so, why do you believe that?

one way to is follow the prophesy as it relates to the state of israel. Christ spoke of israel dispersion throughout the gentile nations - they would fall by the edge of the sword, and would be led captive into all nations and jerusalem trampled under foot by the gentiles until their time is fulfilled - . so Christ used the word 'until' which means that the dispersion would not last forever. the regathering of israel commenced in 1948 ; this regathering before the 7 year tribulation period is in unbelief (where it stand currently). so after some 2000 years israel has a homeland in an unbelieving state as pertaining to the messiah. now the world is in an undefined period of time prior to the 7 year tribulation period that has very detailed prophesy. after the trib, further prophesy then defines israel in a believing regathered state. more prophesy then defines the 1000 year millennium kingdom to fulfill God's promises. With what we have already seen, we can be assured that God is now preparing the world for the final events leading up to israel's national regeneration. why israel? God has elected to tell his story thru them.
