Greetings from Virginia!
Hello to all!

I'm an atheist from the Tidewater Region of Virginia--just a bit south of Washington D.C, for those not familiar with the area. The atmosphere in these parts can be more than a little stifling for anybody who isn't involved in a church and I hope to enjoy myself in the company of some like minded folks.

This isn't my first forum so I hope to get right into the swing of things. I look forward to learning and contributing from you all Smile

(You don't know how hard it was to resist finishing that with a y'all Wink)

I've been here for a while. Well, not here so to speak.... but anyway, you all (y'all?) probably know what I mean. Annoying traveling door preachers, making inappropriate comments at family getherings, being chased down by angry crowds wielding flaming pitchforks. The usual stuff. ;D

Glad to make your acquaintance Beccs.

Yes, we've all experienced that.

My Catholic aunt bought me a copy of the bible for Christmas. I bought her a copy of "God is not Great by Hitchens.

Our sniping continues.

Flaming pitchforks? I thought they only used torches and pitchforks separately. Wink

That guy could be any of several members of my family right after the lawnmower races. All that speed and adrenaline really gets 'em fired up.
