Marriage equality: Texas

Yep. Rick Perry and Ted Cruz will probably have heart attacks over this one.

Unfortunately, gay couples won't be able to get married immediately and there's almost certainly going to be an appeals process; and a lot of those mega-churches with insane amounts of money are probably going to use that money to finance the appeals, not to mention the Republicunts the state keeps putting in office.
Still, the longer this goes on, the more it seems like same sex marriage is inevitable; they can fight against it and delay things and maybe even pass other laws to make things difficult for us, but in the end, we're gonna win.

It is inevitable. One by one countries are changing laws its just a matter of time now. Its completely ridiculous to me that its taken this long even but still, at least its happening even if it is a bit slow.

Give it time... one day people will look back and say... what were we thinking.. it is perfectly natural for one human being to love another. ...

People 2000 years from now will definitely look at the way we were, the same way we look at people who lived 2000 years ago. The world does tend to get better over time, though it's slower in some places than others. That's why it's a bit weird when religious people call earth hell. Hell is supposed to be the worst place imaginable, and for some people this life is hell, but I think for most it does get better and better the more we really strive for equality.

The wins for marriage equality are finally making their way to the South. It's nice to think that if I do meet someone who is right for me, I will be able to marry her in my lifetime and have that marriage actually be legally recognized.

People twenty years from now are going to look at generations preceding mine as if they were from 2,000 years ago. Mostly because, in some crucial ways, they may as well have been.
That's not just regarding marriage equality; fixing everything the Baby Boomers fucked up over the last thirty years is going to take a long, long time.

The religious right seems to have given up on America and is turning to Africa to carry out their fantasies with regards to homosexuals.
