Slavery (on Thursdays)

I guess by that logic we still sacrifice animals too, right?

Well, we certainly eat them. It's kind of the same thing.

When did 'God' ever mention that the slavery that he condoned in the OT was no longer okay?

It certainly wasn't in the NT, where Jesus tells slaves to obey their masters, even the cruel ones.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

First of all you know that the slavery the bible talking of is voluntary slavery or indentured servitude, which people would agree to if they were in debt. you could not enslave someone against their will.

Exodus
16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

Does it say that these bondmen and women were taken against their will? I clearly showed your where that was illegal. And I also explained they were allowed to go free in the year of Jubilee.

Was the law in Leviticus given to anyone except the Israelites?

The language is quite clear; only bonded slavery was allowed to the people of Israel, while the remainder of the world could be subject to chattel slavery.

Maybe maybe not. we have no idea what the other nations the Hebrews dealt with laws were concerning slavery.

First off that is not what that verse says at all. It's not saying "don't kill your slave." It's saying, "it's okay to beat them, just not too hard."
Secondly, Jesus clearly states in Matthew 5:17-19:
Jesus Wrote:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

(February 26, 2014 at 8:41 pm)Huggy74 Wrote: As for the first second one, its pretty good advice. You see there were a couple of famous slaves in the bible one was Joseph(whose life parallels the life of Jesus perfectly), because he was a faithful and righteous slave he became ruler of all Egypt. And the other is Daniel, a man brought into Babylon as a slave.

Here you are presenting a red herring. The point is the Bible condones slavery, not that it gives good advice about being a slave. Don't do what most theists do and blather on about everything other than what the topic is in order to confuse the point.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
