Do not take my word for it. Just go.

I know a lot of Americans who lived in Jeddah and a few who lived in Riyadh in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The only guy who ever had a problem was involved in a fatal car accident where the person he struck died. He eventually paid his way out of it. Everyone else didn't have any problems at all. It may be different now but I haven't read about any problems.

Christianity believes that heresy, speaking against the lord their god is the worst sin imaginable. The one unforgivable sin, in fact. I don't see anything a good society needs that originated from christianity. What good parts in there are mostly taken from older sources.

Yes, the horrible islamic countries, where they worship the same deity as christians do, and run a theocracy like some christians over here would like. We can see for ourselves what it would be like living under such a system, and that is why we are grateful that this country was founded under secular values like separation of church and state.

I'm not sure what part of the bible guarantees freedom of speech or religion or liberty to all people of all backgrounds and beliefs.

The difference between these societies is not Christianity, it is the ideas of The Enlightenment.

Individual freedom and rights are no more Christian than they are Islamic.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

You aint seen nothing yet. He hasn't posted his "look what Christianity has done for you" thread. Buy the upgraded meter now.

Predicted content (I'm psychic):
  • "Christians invented freedom, ushered in the Age of Enlightenment, abolished slavery, ended racism, advanced gender equality, put a man on the moon, promoted science, tried to stop atheists from burning all those intellectuals at the stake and, as always, keeps the earth spinning on its axis, so be grateful you atheist whiners."
  • "Did I mention Sir Issac Newton was a Christian? That means science is all Christiany and stuff."
  • "You atheists should go live in Saudi Arabia because atheism is a lot like Islam or something."

Jeeze, Min. We all get worked up at times, but you seem to just be rude as shit to these poor bastards right out of the gate.

How about living in a more secular society like in Western Europe or even Canada?

Deist and Min,

Bullshit meters are not made to cope with this guy.

I summarized my position in post #344 after his farcical response to me that managed to combine insult, assumption, back-tracking on an offer made with showing how much he, and his God, really care about humanity.

I know you'll follow through but to me this is just wrestling with a pig in mud. After a while you might be winning but it gets hard to tell who is the pig and who you are.

As far as I can tell there is no low this guy won't stoop too.

Brace yourselves for the typical Christian total reinterpretation of history to give Christianity all the credit. He's already attempting to make arguing against any shit he comes up with impossible - allowing you to claim only the contributions made by Deists without being able to argue about his claims for Christianity.
