You are quite adept at strawmanning. Maybe you should take more time to actually read what I have written instead of trying to wedge it together and fasion it into a scarecrow of straw.
You pretty much said the Gospels validate the Gospels.
Where did I say that?

Cos I don't think they are.
Good morning Jacob(smooth). I hope all is well with you and yours.
I see you have expressed interest in debating me. Do you still wish to?

Excellent. As you are aware, there has been much discussion about debate topics here thus far. Several people prior to you had made suggestions and in fairness to you, I extend you the opportunity to make some suggestions as well.
What would you like to debate?

You pretty much said the Gospels validate the Gospels. Actually, as far as I can tell, that's all you've really had to say thus far.
The thing that troubles me is that many Christians when "debating" their beliefs, must resort to duplicitous tactics. And when you point out that that is basically what you're observing, the argument goes on an endless merry go 'round of "Nah uh! No I didn't..."
And why that's troubling is it illustrates pretty well how Christianity doesn't breed ethics. If you are duplicitous, religion won't change you. So, I've learned from this thread and another one posted by a "Christian" here that they prove why non believers don't trust them. It isn't because they believe different things. It's that most human beings simply don't like to be lied to. The fact that the posters I've observed doing this have no problem misleading non believers, tells me that Christianity is just a label they wear with no meaning behind it. Quoting Scripture on cue and telling people to "find Jesus" isn't what Christianity is about but unfortunately, that is how the majority follow it. Quoting the Bible, judging others and pretending they are superior to non believers. There are very few Mother Teresa's in the world, iow.
Ah well, just another day observing Christianity in action. lol

SteelCurtain summed up discipulus well a few pages back:
Quote:This is demonstrably how he debates. Ridiculous amounts of distraction and quibbling over minutiae, oddly enough it gets worse when a decent point is made... He's spent so much time on these forums 'clearing up' things, making assertions like "I have non-biblical references" instead of actually providing those references, and acting like the opportunity to debate him is one all of us are lucky to have.
My prediction has almost come true. Only 8 more pages of run-around and I can call myself a prophet.

Where did I say that? Gee, I don't know, you repeated the unjustified assertion that Christianity makes miraculous claims which are supported by "historical evidence" and then only proceeded to offer the so-called eyewitnesses and hearsay testimonials of Scripture as though they alone validate your leap of faith.

Can you supply where you've provided actual independent references? It's not something I've seen, and I've read the entire thread; bar assertions that the bible is historically accurate, you've provided basically nothing to support that.

You seem to have a comprehension problem. If someone hasn't said something that doesn't mean that they have said something else.
