RE: When the Rapture comes- all the children leave
March 16, 2014 at 1:26 am
Quote:"Behold, I show you a mystery-we shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible (immortal) and we shall be changed. For this corruptible (decay-able) must put on incorruptible and this mortal must put on immortal."
Fantastic when Handel wrote the aria for the last act of Messiah.

Rapture verses-
Prominent would be 1st Corinthians 15:51-53
"Behold, I show you a mystery-we shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible (immortal) and we shall be changed. Second would be in the Letters to the Churches in the book of Revelation 3:10 - (the church of Philadelphia -meaning -brotherly love)
"Because you have kept the word of My patience, I will keep you from the hour of testing that is coming upon the whole earth to test them that dwell upon the whole earth."
Note that in the Letters to the churches, Philadelphia was only one not reproved on any way, whereas the other 5 churches were reproved, and the last one (Laodiocia) was told it would be "Spit out". Laodiocia means -judging by the people- very close to democracy.
Jesus gave an illustration of His return in the parable of the ten virgins who were to meet one groom.
5 had insufficient oil-(to illuminate her with her lamp) a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
While they were out to buy more- the groom came. They were left behind.
This parable of half the the virgins being ready and half not, coincided with the Letters to the Churches where all of Philadelphia go up while none of Laodiocia go and a part of the others go.
Note that the Laodiocian group is offered intimate fellowship as the Lord is "Knocking at the door"...
Another verse that intimates the sequence of Jesus' return, is where He said it would be like the days of Noah when He COMES, and would be like the days of Lot when He is REVEALED. 2 different words describing different events:
Comes= Catching away/ Rapture
Revealed = 2nd Coming
Noah was lifted up over the judgment.
Lot was removed from the immediate area of judgment and stayed on terra firma.
That's your evidence for the Rapture?
The bible really is the ultimate Rorschach test.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

And this can't be about the Final Judgment that Paul believed would happen in his own lifetime because...?

Because we are not appointed to wrath.
"Because you have kept the word of My patience- will keep you from (eck- out of) the hour of testing..." Note the keeping of His word and patience.
The events of the tribulation period (the time of testing coming upon the whole earth) also have the wrath of the Lamb (Jesus) upon His enemies. We simply cannot be here for that.

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

That's OK LastPoet. People seem to love fantasy stories.
Personally, I would love to see no one here, when the Man of Sin steps out onto the stage in full power but that ain't gonna happen.

Oh camon, be honest, you'd love to see all atheists bite the dust when your imaginary bad guy could arrive.

LastPoet, totally the opposite.
I want you guys to have victory.
I don't even hate the bad guys. I do want to see them stopped though.
I want you to know about the bad guy NOW so you not follow him later.
Never was any good at games, but I look at this as a strategic game like chess, where the players are actually on the board. And the entire board is composed of squares representing multitudes of views of life.
We may not have choose to be on the board- but we are here.
All the squares are contradictory.
One and only one is correct.
Please win the game.
