This thread is also slightly gay and i'm beginning to question whether or not i'm the only pious cunt that would ask for permission to take his shirt off.

However, had I not started this thread, I consider how many people's lives would not have be enhanced by the pig photos. I'll never forget those three little piggies. Wink

Thanks Kusa! For that and the Dildosaures

Nah, you don't have to be cut to turn me on, though I do like nicely defined pecs and abs just fine. I've been around plenty of meatheads. They were assholes and no matter how sweaty they got around me or how good they were when they fought me in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, they did not turn me on.

Here's an example of a guy whose looks I like. He is a philosophy professor at my school. He's a skinny guy, which normally isn't my thing, but is acceptable. The thing I liked most about him was he had this whole sort of New York rock-star like vibe going on, which wasn't entirely about his looks, but was enhanced because he had kind of messy hair and I think he had an earring in one ear.

It also helped that he was intellectually hot. Like this man... could challenge me and teach me things. I love it when someone can do that for me.

WHat is intellectually hot? Someone who is educated, opinionated, articulate, and thoughtfull I assume. Often times those people have major social hurldles.

Were your girlfriends intellectually hot?

Yes, all those things, and having ideas and thoughts which are actually interesting, or even that I just had never heard of or thought of before.

I thought so initially or I never would have bothered with them. But upon getting to know them better, I found that I did not admire their intellect as much as I thought I did, and that where I thought I saw intelligence that initially excited me, that was pretty much the best of what they had to offer, and nothing else.

And also, when I got to know them better, not only did they both have serious mental health problems far beyond those I felt comfortable dealing with, but in the case of my first girlfriend, I came to find everything about her tedious and boring, and I suspect that soon would have been the case with my other ex. I didn't even date either of them that long. The latter relationship didn't even last a month, because that time I listened to my instincts and when I saw the red flags, I got the FUCK out.

BTW, the word for someone who is turned on by intelligence and intellect is "sapiosexual," and it describes a LOT of people. Now you have learned a thing on the internet.

I wouldn't call them "disgusting" at all. I'm not sure who would, besides you just now.

Bitch, please, I know you're not "innocent" at all. Big Grin Anyway, I have dated someone who was "innocent" and it was horrible. I'm now pretty sure the concept of "innocence" is extremely problematic and actually fucks people up.

If I recall, you were raised Catholic, right? I know you have all this guilt about all kinds of things and you feel like an absolutely awful person, and you would be amazed how much of that is to be expected from someone raised Catholic. That particular brand of religion even more than a lot of others just specializes in sexual repression and shame to control people. It is FUCKED UP.

Oh, I have this problem, bad. I tend to romanticize every relationship I'm in. I idealize the partners at the beginning, and then as the relationship goes on, they can never live up to the idealized version of them that I originally had, and I end up starting to resent that.

I have dated women that I thought could challenge me intellectually, and they do. They actually do, but then I discover that they are ignorant about something I find fascinating, and then it crumbles. It is the thing I hate the most about myself.

Thanks for dropping the knowledge on me, futile. I am the worlds biggest sapiosexual.

I really think everything you said in that first paragraph is extremely common. It is possible that absolutely everybody does that. I'm not sure how one STOPS doing that, because I mean, if you didn't have this idealized version of who this person is at the beginning of the relationship, why would you want to be with THEM over anybody else in the world? And inevitably, humans are just so disappointing. Every single one, every single time will disappoint you if you allow yourself to have any kind of expectation for them whatsoever.

That second part doesn't sound like it should be a deal-breaker. Just talk to other people about that thing you find fascinating and talk about other things with this person who actually does by some miracle challenge you intellectually.

Wait, don't listen to anything I say, I have the worst dating history so far, and I have like, no standards whatsoever, I will forgive almost anything but outright overall stupidity.

You're absolutely right. I guess maybe it's my inability to cope with it that drives me nuts. Or maybe I just haven't found the right person. It hasn't happened yet with my current GF, which is great. And we've been together almost a year. So maybe I just attributed the natural death of a relationship to my shortcomings when it was nothing more than just the end of my time with that person.
