Yea well we all know how Heywood is with questions. Everyone kept saying it like it was a thing though. I can't take a conversation about a 'future person' seriously. It's too funny.

Of course it is. Because the zygote is less developed does it make it not a human being? Of course not....if that were the case 2 year olds would not be human beings.
So what criteria are you using to determine humanity? As I mentioned in the other abortion thread, it can't solely be genetics because that makes a lot of things that aren't humans, human too. You seem to be just asserting that zygotes possess this attribute without any criteria that would point to that, nor anything other than special pleading to prevent us from extending that same attribute further back to the sperm and the egg, or forward to, say, human fingernails.
I'm replying as I am catching up. I just wanted to say before I move further down, if Heywood answers this question from you I will cry. I have asked him at least 5 times now.

I get the feeling the reason he doesn't is because it's much harder to tear to pieces a position that we don't know exists, and that if we did know his criteria, it wouldn't last for long.

Exactly, he knows why we are asking and he figures if he doesn't answer then he 'wins' the debate. Lol

I answered this on a couple of occasions already. If you want to know what a human being is....open up a junior high school biology text and look up the life cycle of a human being. A human being is a zygote, a fetus, an infant, a toddler, an adolescent, an adult, and an elderly adult(which is really just an adult).

We know what a human being is, we want a definition in your own words of what a human being is. Why is this so hard?

I tend to ignore questions with obvious answers.
A future person is a person that exists in the future.

No Heywood, that is not an answer. You are intentionally avoiding the question.

What? A person that exists in the future? How can a person exist in the future?

Just because you can't see the future doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It would be wrong to push a button and kill a random Ethiopian....why because if I travel thru time and space I can see that random Ethiopian is a person. The same is true of a fetus. If I travel thru time and space I will meet a person....unless someone kills the fetus while I am on my journey(but the same could be said of the random Ethiopian).
Let me ask you this. If it was possible for me to go back in time and kill you when you were a fetus....would I be committing murder?
Also I am not avoiding the question. I gave a text book answer that you cannot attack so you don't like it. Your position is seems is dependent on fantasy instead of facts.

Ok. That doesn't actually answer anything.
When the subject matter is one of subjective interpretation of when life begins, dismissing a request that seeks to elucidate where the line is drawn is foolish and not conducive to furthering the debate.
