An unorthodox belief in God.

Evidence can be demonstrated to be true, assertions are claims that cannot, or have not yet.

"Evolution cannot create consciousness" is an assertion, and yet you labelled it as evidence. To support it with evidence you would have to demonstrate why this is so using things from the real world. But if you just say it, you've only made an assertion, and as I've said, assertions are cheap. Assertions are trivial. Anyone can make any assertion they like.

The stuff you're saying has no evidence in it, and we aren't required to accept it based on just the fact that you said it. Because assertions are easy.

God does not exist, and the evidence for that is consciousness.

There, I've just made an assertion. Do you find that compelling?

No? Then why on earth would we find your assertions any more appealing than that? Because all you've done, for the most part, is said "X is proof of god, and Y is proof of god." Sometimes you add "because I can't see how natural things could do that," but the fact that you can't think of something also isn't compelling.

Evolution cannot create anything; its not a power unto itself; it has no beginning, no mind, its not a creative being; evolution is inherited change, its a process which cannot create ANYTHING!

Oh, no. Please stay.

You are quite entertaining.

And maybe, just maybe, you will learn the difference between 'assertion' and 'evidence'.

I am not optimistic, but there's always hope.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Seriously, check out the link he provided in his reply to me above. All he does is deflect criticism without engaging the argument and then keeps piling on what he calls 'proofs'. He's incorrigible.

See?

Now that is an assertion.

For it to become evidence, you have to be able to demonstrate that it is true.

So, how would you go about finding out if it is true?

So, you're just going to skip over the actual point of my post in favor of rebutting my ridiculously oversimplified and random assertion I made specifically to demonstrate that assertions are worthless and don't necessarily match up with reality inherently?

You missed what I was actually saying to argue against something I literally acknowledged was a flawed argument. Good job.

He doesn't care what any of us say and I honestly don't think he cares if he is persuasive. He's just taking us for a ride.

He shared a link where he's done it before.

Well I have irritated and intimidated groups before, I am used to being put out, and I understand it. the Christians have put me out the most, because I press hard on them, you see what religion has done to the pathology of this world.

I can be hard on atheist as well, several of them have asked me to leave as well; so 20 of you to just me is maybe not fair to you, but I think atheist are stronger debators than Christians. That strength makes this more fair, but I can sense a few of you wanting me gone already.

Really? Did you read Esq's post at all? Talk about pot calling the kettle black. Please, address Esquilax's point, that simply saying something doesn't make it true. You have to back it up.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I am curious, would anything I would have said have matter to you?

What you are doing isn't debate. You are processing baseless assertions like shit through a goose and just leave your mess behind as you get on to your next turd. Intimidating? Hardly. Irritating? Beyond question.
