I know what the word means. Are you saying the verse sounds like postdiction?

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
A lot of such verses could have been written during the Crusades to pump the troops up. It's not like they had copies of the Bible in their backpacks.
