Has atheistforums.org ever gotten you in trouble with your significant other?

(September 8, 2014 at 8:27 pm)Pickup_shonuff Wrote: So, today my girlfriend texted me asking, "You don't love me?"

To make a long story short, she was creeping on me and saw my silly, sarcastic reply to naimless' thread in which I replied to his/her questions with:

2. Nope
3. I don't know.

Anyway, she took it as me saying I don't love her, and even though I tried to explain that naimless is pretty much a troll who never posts anything intelligent (and hence I responded in kind), she got upset and it escalated into a fight in which we have not spoken to one another for the past three hours. Fucking stupid shit, I know.

Ever get in trouble with your "beau" over anything on here? Or is my girlfriend (hey baby Wink) just fucking nuts?

She also alleges that I spend too much time on here and not enough time with her... *eye roll*

My partner asked me what would get me away from the computer, I told her a trip to the October Beer Festival in Germany... Result!

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)

My wife doesn't come here, to my knowledge, but I have nothing to hide.

Again, my girlfriend doesn't really care what I do online so long as I'm not preoccupied by it.

I might have done better to have quoted the OP; that was really in response to his woman trubbles.

My wife and I met on a forum, so she's pretty well acquainted with my shenanigans.

Haha, my wife doesn't bother me with my time spent here.

On the other day she told me she dreamt of finding me with a blonde in bed and how realistically harrowing it felt, to wich I replied: "How hot was she?" Big Grin

I don't have a SO right now. Sad We recently broke up. That said, I wasn't on much when he was around. Angel

But, something to think about... She's probably feeling down about something else within the relationship and pinning it on AF. Maybe time for a heart to heart.

I was going to type "relationships take work" but I don't wanna throw up. Undecided

Relationships take effort but I don't believe in changing your ways to appease the insecurities of a SO. Only you know the depth of your relationship.

RE: Has atheistforums.org ever gotten you in trouble with your significant other?
Several weeks ago, my SO came across me reading a post from a member who shall remain nameless. She thought the person in question was attractive and asked about her. I said I didn't know much about her except that she is highly intelligent and makes interesting contributions to the threads. Since then, my SO has been convinced that I have a thing for this person. She won't accept the fact that her seeing this person's post on my screen happened to be coincidental. I must be trying (somehow) to pick up on her, and this gets trotted out every once in a while when I'm in the dog house.

No big deal. If I had designs on (and succeeded with) a fraction of the women she unnecessarily feels threatened by, I'd have my own reality show.

My SO has been skeptical of me on these forums ever since the whole fiasco with my and/or Ivy's stalker OfMiceAndMen aka May_Love. :-|

I prefer the term, "fucking nuts".
