I've been studying astrophysics, quantum physics, epigenetics for many years and I'm finding more that's leading me away from atheism than toward it. My intention here was to get other people's opinions, but it seems like rather than engaging in the debate, people want to call me an idiot. Maybe I'm confused and this is not a site for people who actually want to have intelligent conversation with other people with opposing viewpoints?

It's certainly not a place where you can show up, spam new threads, then tell us exactly what we believe without attempting to engage us first, then get all huffy when people don't like it.

What do you refer to as "spam". I'm posting information I have written with regard to my observations and asking other people's opinions. I did not mean to make any assumptions of anyone's beliefs, but I am specifically looking to discuss with those that believe their is no evidence of any intelligence to the design of existence and who feel there is no evidence of intelligence influence on existence.

Can't you just stick to your first 7 fallacious threads instead of posting another one?

We come there for honest discussion and debate. Why did you come here?

You aren't even responding to any of the replies to your other threads.

I am responding. How do you deem that I am not attempting to have honest discussion and debate?

Intelligent people don't normally accept philosophical assertions without meaningful support. I want to know what work by any credible workers in the fields of "astrophysics, quantum physics, epigenetics " support intelligent design. Links ftw.

It looks as much like pixies are responsible for it. Just change your religious views to "presupposed", at least that'd be more honest.

According to Neil Degrasse Tyson, "15% of the most brilliant minds in the world" believe in a personal god. NDT is agnostic, but argues that it is amazing that after all the advancements in science there is still evidence being revealed that continues to confirm ID for these brilliant minds. I think it's fascinating as well.

What do you assume I'm presupposing? That there's a possibility that life is like a video game that was designed and we're playing? Sure, I'll entertain the thought, especially if quantum physicists and astrophysicists are willing to entertain the thought that time is illusory and acts similar to a hologram. Why not?

Reference fail.

If Tyson supports the idea of ID, then link something where he says it's anything other than superstition.

Read it again. I said he's agnostic. You asked whether there are scientists that believe in ID, I referenced Tyson's claim that 15% of the NAS scientists do.

How in the FUCK does your topic have anything to do with the title? Here I was hoping for some good discussion on solipsism, and yet no, all we've got here is "Special and General Relativity haven't been fused, therefore God." Actually, no. It's "I don't understand Relativity, therefore God."

Yeah, it definitely got off topic and somehow I'm now on the solipsism discussion on another thread.

This was initially exploring time as an illusion, kind of like a video game preprogrammed with all possible outcomes set and we're the player having the experience of gameplay... I actually have some interesting thoughts of how this relates to the "gliches" some people experience (ex schizophrenia)

You did NOT just go there. Mental illnesses of various types have no detected correlation to relativity. Please shut the fuck up.

Well, considering there is little understanding of what causes schizophrenia, to me (as a psychotherapist) it's worth exploring. It may not be for you, but I'm assuming you're not treating schizophrenics.

And I will not "shut the fuck up". I have just as much right to express my opinion as you do. Don't like it, leave the thread.
