To prevent that... get a friend (maybe even one with a class at the same time?) and have both of you promise to text each other, say, 30 minutes before class starts. Just, like, "I'm awake" or "Good morning" texts. FB messages or Skype will work too as long as it makes your phone ring.
So, go to bed with your ringer on loud and if you don't wake up in time the other person's text (or a call afterwards) will wake you.

That's what I do. It works.
Or, you could do as we old folks from the 60's did and get an alarm clock

You know your phone has one right? RIGHT?
Or if you know someone in a different time zone, you can stay on the phone with them all night and they can wake you when your alarm goes off.

Just arrived from class - Slept a little, each year the professors get more boring - Why do they even pay them?
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

What, you expect them to bore you to sleep for free? :p

I expected some of them to give thrilling lectures, I've had some professors like that, but most are only hired by their scientific and academical achievements - And since I study in public university I'm not paying, therefore I have to endure whatever these fuckers bring.
