Hey professor...
Do you have any plans for the blood moon next week? I plan on having a fire pit and banging on drums.

An effective way to get to home plate!
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Maybe our nutty professor is one of those false prophets, sent by the devil to poison the well for the genuine ones and make them look bad.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
Hi ShaMan, hope you had a nice rest.
I know you will be thoughtful of the neighbors with those drums. I'm one of those people who consider every day the same. No plans for the blood moon coming up (hey, maybe it'll be an UP day for me), go to work everyday, fix things, still some grass cutting to do, but it is slowing down, leaves are falling, very pretty here. I cut about 4 acres a week from May to the end of Oct. Lm, you know there is a method to my madness. When (not if) the big day comes, my shithead days will be over. I really don't have to try to convince anyone now. I gave you a lot of information. It will be sufficient that something I posted will resonate after we leave. That is the degree of confidence I have that the Rapture is not years off. See, long ago I made the super tough decision. If anything I said here helps accomplish that for you, I will be delighted. I'm glad you said that. How about sticking around to make some friends. Maybe start a race car thread or go ban someone in the ban thread. Stop by and tell us what you're up to, what you're into, something we don't know about you. I can't speak for everyone, but I'd like to be your friend...you know, with more you and less crazy
Losty, you are great. Really.
I don't know when the last time I have been so touched at the heart by someone's words. I'm almost never emotional. But you got me on this one. Thanks for the kudo Exian. I don't know what to say. Thanks RE: That Day will come as a trap on all the world

Not just during my life time, mind you, but going way back in the past and going eons forward into the future. Sure the sun goes red giant in the end but it looks like a good 5 billion years before that happens. Not to say people will still be around to get crisped. But if we're not still around, it won't be the result of the rapture. It will be because of a particularly deadly flu or other disease, or a catastrophic impact to the planet or just because we kill ourselves off. I don't think you get to say " I'm one of those people who consider every day the same." (October 3, 2014 at 9:22 pm)professor Wrote: Losty, you are great. Really. 'kudo' is not an actual word, it is a bastard, illiterate, back-formation.
