.. Bono has just issued an apology for giving many people an album from one of the world's biggest bands, for free.

Why are people thinking that it was wrong for them to do that?

If a free album dropped through your letter box, you could just put it in the bin if you didn't like the artist. Same with iTunes surely.

Is this just people being bloody-minded?

My daughter has this downloaded to her phone, without permission, and had to get a special app just to remove it.

Forgive me playing devil's advocate, but permission? On most devices you get sample photos, ringtones, music etc, and you may allow an update, but you have no idea what's in the update.

(as I said, I don't have a strong opinion, just want to understand. And I do understand that it could be a problem if it uses up your available storage etc).

When people are used to earn money, they don't give that status away for nothing. I don't like U2, they made alot of money out of the already existing pain of death on Northern Ireland.

PS: They are so shitty, I don't even bother illegally downloading their crap.

So I get that you don't like U2... and that you cite them making money, apparently out of "existing pain of death in NI"? what do you mean by that? I suspect they had no bearing on the troubles in NI? I don't know?
