Does true love still exist in the world ? I like to think about falling in love with someone and dedicating my body and soul to my beloved. People contradict me by saying such things are all in fantasy and do not happen in reality. Did anyone of you fall in true love ?

Many times.
Uhhm...I don't believe in souls...but...what is true love?
What are your standards for true love? What do you call love that isn't "true love" RE: True Love - Did you ?

I intepret "true love" is when I love the person for their body, personality, and their quirks. Basically love everything about the person. So I fell in love many times.

Just before he died. Didn't need to go through that, but I wouldn't erase him from my life if I could. RE: True Love - Did you ?

I think 'true love' is an excuse for investing woo-like significance onto one person, a burden no one can live up to. If ever less was more, this is it.
Oh, but to answer the question, yeah I did. Live and learn.
I have no idea what 'true love' might mean, but I love my partner very much, and have through good times and bad. I wouldn't ask for more.
I don't know what the difference between love and true love is, but I've been in love with two women. My college girlfriend Erica, and the woman I'm sharing my life with now.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I've known true love three times in my life. I'm a lucky sonofabitch.
Some people think they are 'in love,' but it's little more than deep infatuation. I've been in love, and my last boyfriend and I felt like it was something out of a movie. But, when faced with a conflict...we broke up. And the conflict was nothing that we couldn't surpass, so ...is that love? I've always thought love sees one through all things.
I'm a bit wary of true love, for it requires a lot of trust ... and when you've been hurt a few times, it's hard to give your heart away to the next person, who may be doing everything right. |
