I recall a discussion with a Catholic friend of mine who remained upset that Mass is being said in English instead of Latin. He said, in all seriousness, 'If Latin was good enough for Jesus, it should be good enough for the Church.'

Not said to me but I've heard about a woman in the US who stated something similar about English.
Yes, it's one of those "I heard" stories which may or may not be true, but, seeing some of the statements Christians have made, I'm willing to believe it.

During my first ill-starred marriage, I acquired a brood of Evangelical in-laws. Shortly after my ex- and I had moved to a new apartment, I came home from work one night to find her and three members of her immediate family following their pastor from room to room, intoning prayers of protection from evil spirits at every doorway (including the closets) while the minister anointed each doorframe with olive oil. As I watched, I felt a perfect balance between hilarity and stupefaction that I haven't quite experienced since.

Of course, everyone knows that Brian's Jesus' dad was Naughtius Maximus, a Roman Legionnaire. Of course Latin was good enough for him.

Oh, just remembered an online conversation (read: argument) with a Muslim fuckwit in Oz a few years ago.
"You just want to ban the burqa because you know Muslim morality is superior to Australian morality, and the Muslim women are better than Western women!"
And when asked why he lived in Australia if he thought Muslim morality is superior, why not go to a Muslim majority country?
"Racist!"
The argument ended after I mentioned that Islam is not a race.

A Mormon friend told me "black people are descended from a cursed race". Wtf.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!
