Any Theists on AF, I Challenge You to a Debate on the Existence of God

RE: Any Theists on AF, I Challenge You to a Debate on the Existence of God
There is mystery. Religious faith takes the worst of philosophy. We can only be guided by the success of our senses. People have intense feelings and instead of trying to understand what causes those feelings they call it divinity and make up stories to give it cosmic significance. If anyone wants a good idea of how believers think, check out Theologica Germanica. Written in 1518, it's exemplary of the credulity and delusion that religious believers tend to think must accompany their sense of mystery, wonder, and morality.

We are related to the cosmos as much as every cell in our body is related to each other, the cosmos in its entirety is what I see god as, nothing can be taken from the cosmos or added.

Your use of God is just a redundancy then. Unless you're calling the Cosmos a "person" who is intimately concerned with your life and answers prayers...

Yes but that's because you have made your mind up about what God means to you, I could have used another word, such as the Source, Consciousness, Nevada, there just words.

I'd like to think they're "just words" used to mean "actual things."

But when we talk of God, or the Cosmos, well there no things, things come out of them and go back into them, but the whole cannot be conceptualized.

I. No personal attacks
II. No Threats of Eternal Damnation
III. You cannot use anecdotal evidence to support your claims (i.e. "My mother saw God when she had a near-death incident and she talked to Jesus")

The debate doesn't necessarily have to be a Deistic God vs. Atheism debate (although I'd prefer that) and I'm fine if whoever comes up to debate me defends the god of their religion.

Which is EXACTLY the opposite of signifying the mysterious by "He," "She," "Perfection" "The Goodness" "Force" "Consciousness," etc.

I personally like Force though, I don't know what that is supposed to mean in the context of anything related to my best attempts at objective understanding in almost 27 years of experience in the world.

Yea just call it what you want, because no matter what we call it, that isn't what is, its just that some people take words too serious, for me there just play things.

How do you know "that isn't what is?"
