What will it take to convert you?

RE: What will it take to convert you?
Then again... why should we give that fucker god attention.....
All of the wars and issues we have had through the centuries has always been over religion.
People are starving, dying, and sick pray to god and they hardly receive any attention.
But when a football team wins they thank god and not their there hard work or training.
If god did exist which i highly doubt he she or it would be very much liked.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.

At this point it seems a common opinion is even if god does exist.
Fuck 'em?

I'd say that's a fair opinion. Still no theist rebuttals from what I can tell?

It kind of hurts PR when you start by demanding love and worship, and kill people who don't. Even if you come back later and talk about loving your enemies and giving to the poor, people will still bring up the fact that your biggest concern is still worshiping you, and your most common method of dealing with people who don't is killing them.

Given your avatar I should expect a reference to the crusades. Fair enough.

Wrong - Doms and Dommes do things by consent. God never has.

But that depends on who created who. If we created god, then whatever he does is by our consent. If not, we're all just part of one of god's fantasies. Maybe it'll help rub out a cosmic one.

When I started using it, I was thinking of the more idealistic version of knights. The fact that knights were not always champions of valor and justice has been pointed out to me before. Tongue

Fuck 'em?

Sure, but in your views, aren't you asking, "Is Power Knowledge?"
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh

As it happens it wasn't my intent to point anything out. Just an observation is all. I too used to have a more idealistic view of "Christian Knights". To the point that I have a Maltese Cross tattooed on my right shoulder. We live and learn I suppose.

Maybe a little? Honestly never gave it that much thought. "Knowledge is power" is more or less my religious point of view. (Atheist...) The backwards Latin is basically an attempt to be facetious at Christianity's expense. It was a toss between that and "Evangelical Atheist".

RE: What will it take to convert you?
In DnD you have a Paladin, who must be Lawful Good to even BE a Paladin, and it's pretty much based on the Medieval knights. No wonder christians hated DnD. We cherry picked the best parts of their famous crusading warriors, and left out the dirty truth.

Funny, many of the "tv evangelists" make well over that.

An anecdote:
I collect watches. I spend many hours a day researching them, to the point that I can reliably spot a fake rolex from a distance of 10 feet.

I attended a Catholic service during christmas with my now ex girlfriend. The priest drones on and on about the commercialism and "bastardization" of the holiday and how we're a bunch of greedy fuckers who should give all our money to the poor.
All while wearing a two tone Rolex submariner with a msrp of ~ 12000.00 us. It was pretty damn hard to take him seriously after noticing that.

There are some nice replicas out there, not the real thing but very nice.
