Is one-world-language a good idea?

RE: Is one-world-language a good idea?
I'd adopt Klingon as the one world language. People from my town would have no difficulty whatsoever in the vocalizations.
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.

Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

The problem whith the OP idea is that even English isn't standard within itself and is continually evolving from generation to generation and town to town.

SQUEEEE! I love making up languages but I keep that hobby to myself because it is a bit unusual. Yes, let's invent a one world language but it shouldn't be English. English is a strange language with some weird spelling. Also, maybe one day China will be the biggest superpower and people who learned English will have to learn a new language. An invented language solves that problem. Plus, I could invent the language because I am a nerd and like doing that sort of thing.

One thing that I would have is that verbs don't change their form but particles in front of the verbs would change whether they are past or present tense. That seems much simpler to learn.

Of course, there would be an equivalent to fuck. It is a made up language so fuck could keep its various meanings and stay the same.

I say yes, but with the following qualification: There are several words in certain languages that have no equivalents in other languages. If we were to somehow incorporate those exclusive words into the common language (either by inventing new words for the common language to incorporate those meanings, or by simply lifting the words in question directly from their parent languages) then I think the common language would be a good idea.

I find swearing in English very unsatisfying. It just doesn't have that "umph".

I find insults in foreign languages very satisfying as that allows me enough time to get away while the other party looks it up on google.

PS: I never intended for a specific existing language to be the world language, nor do I want it as a replacement, but my idea of a world language is something simple, easy to learn, and just basic enough to help everyone communicate with each other easily.

What gives curse words that special umph? We can invent a few words that have the right combination of sounds and tell people not to say them. That will make cursing be more emotionally satisfying.

I don't know. Curse words in my mother's tongue almost all have r in them so they roll on the tongue nicely. But maybe it's just that they have stronger emotional connections to them than foreign words.

This is a terrible idea. Until all people have identical standards of oral hygiene, we will have to leave out "s," "f," and many other useful sounds. I do not want a universal language which consists only of grunts, tongue sounds, and clicking noises. Tongue
