Welcome my fellow Brit!

Welcome, Emjay!
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Hey emjay welcome Smile I'm a Brit too!

Don't worry, no one expects you to be openly slagging off God or anything. We generally do it because we find it fun! You'll fit in just fine without worrying about that. Let us beat up on him for you, until such time as you feel ready to throw the odd bitch slap in too Big Grin

I hope we don't make you uncomfortable, on the whole we are insulting ideas and not people. We insult religion, not the religious. That is my aim anyway Smile A lot of religious people take insults against God and jesus personally, but to me that's just more evidence that both those things are in their mind only.

What Rob said.

And welcome! Big Grin
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.

Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

I tend to be mistaken as one a lot, both for complexion and accent Tongue

Hi there robvalue

Thanks for that reassurance - I didn't think I'd be quite so sensitive about it. I guess I have never truly closed the book on it, just moved away from it as my Atheist theories have developed over the years.

Thank you to everyone for your friendly welcomes Smile I'm looking forward to meeting you all in the other forums Big Grin

Hi, welcome here!

You, play whomever's advocate you feel like playing, I'm looking forward to your contributions either way Smile
