Pascal's Wager Revisited
RE: Pascal's Wager Revisited
Absolutely. Ganesha might kick your arse for the rest of time.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Eternal life isn't worth it... honestly i'd want my particles mass and or energy to be returned to the environment around me than be put into a place of suffering and or bliss.

Even some of those who claim certainty that God does not exist may refuse to "die broke."

So let's dig a little deeper, shall we? Apart from the fact that "human glory" is a term to puke over, given our nature and the consequences it implies, do you deny we are the product of evolution and therefore part of a natural chain? Is this some kind of religious master racist standpoint according to the bible bullshit of man being allowed to do with earth and it's cratures as he pleases?

It it's not worth it (for you), then by that very fact you cannot get it.

Thank you! See, that's all I wanted, just a confirmation that you had seen my posts.

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House

“Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom

The fact that there is such thing as human shame does not imply that there is no such thing as human glory.

The problem of how we came to be is irrelevant for the very different problem of what and who we are.

Yes, limited only by that fact that nature, in order to be commanded, must be obeyed.

1. How do you know that the method to get an afterlife is  what you have outlined here on this forum?

2. How do you know there aren't other criteria to get an afterlife other than your method?

3. How do you know there aren't other afterlives in addition to the one you believe exists, that are as good or better than yours, and your method will not let you have one of those?

4. How do you know that the way to be left out of an afterlife is to be credulous and gullible, and to fall for idiotic arguments like Pascal's Wager?

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
