I think it depends on what an individual values more. For some folks being happy is better and if we look closely being happy is one of the greatest privileges you can have.

I'm not sure if you're just explaining your own reasons, if so that's cool. But I hope you can see that becoming a Christian, or joining any other religion, is not a choice a sceptic could make without just pretending to believe all the necessary stuff.
You pretend to believe things anyway. Right now you pretend to believe. You choose to pretend to believe some things and other things you don't.
