This made me laugh:
Quote:Muslim fury as Aldi ‘halal’ black pudding made by Indian food firm contains pork
ALDI has been forced to apologise to Muslim customers after it sold black pudding made by Indian food firm Punjab Pakora advertised as 'halal' despite containing pork.

Quote:customers were outraged that that neither Punjab Pakora nor Aldi had spotted the mistake until they started to receive complaints.
"This is absolutely outrageous and I am deeply offended by this," said Manahil Khan.
"I am pretty sure many others of the Muslim community are also very offended by this.
"It is demoralizing and goes against ones religious morals and scripture, and I speak on behalf of every Muslim and human that does not deserve to be misled by any sort of false claim of halal food or lies about what we consume."
LOL.
It said black fucking pudding on the box. I mean... really?
"does not deserve to be misled by any sort of false claim of halal food"
Black pudding... on the box... in big letters...

The day you want to invade the Saudis you needn't missiles, just send war planes firing bacon all over the place.

I saw the title and thought this was about a D & D monster.

And let me be clear, all this halal and kosher crap is precisely that,
-however-
a good friend of mine has a serious health issue and mislabeled food products can be an extremely serious problem for him, I have to admonish food purveyors of all stripes that getting the damn labels correct is a vital function of your business.
In my 12 stepper orbit, I have only encountered a very few instances of this sort; some chocolates many years ago that were really boozy spring to mind, and sometimes a restaurant menu won't be real clear about alcohol in deserts. And while (to date) I have been impervious to such accidents, I know quite a few I would not want to see challenged this way. I'm not a total butt about this, I've had a (very) few St. Pauli Girl NAs over the years, and am aware a few of my friends enjoy O'Douls. I've been known to have a dipper of Banana's Foster over a bowl of ice cream occasionally and it has not been a problem. I would not do that around quite a few 12 Steppers I know, however.

Food made from pig blood contains pork? Who knew?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

For starters, halal food isn't a health issue. It's a religious one.
Second, I'd really contend that the box was mislabled such that someone could actually be confused about what they were eating. It says BLACK PUDDING on the front in big fuck off letters. If you didn't know what black pudding was, then you're an idiot for buying it. On the back where it has the ingredients label it clearly says "PORK" anyway.
Third, why would a Muslim (who doesn't eat pork for symbolic/religious reasons, not health reasons) want to eat a black pudding pakora anyway? This isn't someone who is a vegetarian looking for a meat substitute like Quorn because they still like the taste of meat or whatever other reason. This is someone who symbolically thinks it's wrong to eat pork. Even if you thought it was a pork substitute, why would you want to eat it?
Dipshits going on like they're being lied to about their food and how deeply offended they are. Muppets.
It's a simple labelling mishap that is still trumped by the fact it's called A BLACK FUCKING PUDDING PAKORA.
