Might be weird. But i somewhat converted to christianity, because of a game. Just joking.
Although i dont trust Paul the Apostle, or what is written in the gospels(Since they wheren't there to witness anything). But since i can't actually disprove Jesus i somewhat just converted due to that. I mean it might be somewhat silly reason, so feel free to ridicule hehe

Claims that can't be proven or disproven are untestable, and therefore garbage. If you believe in jesus because you can't disprove him, you should also believe in unicorns, dragons, elves, bigfoot, aliens and the tooth fairy. Otherwise you're guilty of special pleading.

Are you from the southern US? I caused some confusion when I lived in the western US because I said the word, hey instead of hello.
One time I was passing my neighbor's house and I shouted, "Hey" to him. He stood up and asked what I needed. Confused, I told him that I didn't need anything. He asked why I said, hey. I told him I was just being friendly. We stared at each other for a few minutes and went on our way. Our families never really got friendly but it took me years to figure out why he couldn't just accept a friendly greeting.

You know, it's also worth to note how we only hear about 'god' from people. And people are full of shit. We can safely assume they made it all up, since this 'god' never shows up to make his case for himself.

If you're interested in reading more about why believing something because it can't be proved wrong is an error of thinking, please check it out on my website here. If not, tell me to poke it up my atheist bung hole! I'm not going to ridicule you, just offer my assistance in clear thinking, should you so wish. It's an easy mental trap to fall into, especially when you're new to it.
It's an argument used almost constantly by religion because they have no actual facts or valid arguments so must appeal to fallacies and manipulation. They also use tu quoque, ("Well, you're dumb too! Your method makes no sense either!") also on my website, almost constantly. You'll see about 59 of each per day in the forum

I know this is an intro thread and all, but honestly? The reasoning for belief here is so stupid it seems like a troll. Does this belief extend itself to anything you cannot disprove? Why is the Jebus story special?
You can't disprove there's a teapot orbiting Mars, but does that mean you should 'convert' to a religion that believes it does?
The thing that gets me, is OP seems to know the reasoning is stupid as fuck. So why call yourself a Christian, exactly? Just for the heck of it?
Do you actually believe any of the bullshit? If not, why label yourself as a believer?
