I would focus more on useful everyday skills and knowledge, and cut out subjects which don't end up being used. I'd give a lot more choice over what to learn.

Im assuming that if it were attempted, it would take much less than 20 years given the much higher level of technology that is available now. It's worth giving it a go I'd say.
